DEBUT || Ohayocon 2006

WHY || Azumanga is one of my favorite series of this past year. I wanted to do a costume, but didn't have time to do the school uniform, so I thought of the cute waitress outfits from the stuffed animal cafe episode. I looked the most like Yomi, and managed to talk my friend into going as Tomo even though she hadn't seen any of the series yet herself. And, who wouldn't want to wear a Daddy hat?

HOW || The hats were purchased from the wonderful Genki Gang. For the skirts, I just reused the pattern from Kelli's Mai costume. The aprons were made from a simple pattern and trimmed with bias tape. Since I could not find orange bias tape, I used ribbon to trim the white shirts. More ribbon was used for the neck bows. The name tags were made out of paperclay. We each purchased socks for the costumes, and reused old shoes. Mine were originally from my Misha costume.
