WHY || The world of El-Hazard has always held a special place in my heart and I love the relationship of Miz and Fujisawa. (My first date with my now-husband was watching the second EH OVA up in his dorm room. ^^) The OVA costume was to daunting to try at the time, but when I saw The Wanderers I knew I could pull that simpler TV series character design of Miz off. I managed to talk my then-fiance into cosplaying as Mr Fujisawa and my friend Tara went as Rune Venus.

HOW || I started months before gathering the materials, buying the gloves on eBay and the sleeveless mock turtleneck on clearance at the mall. My friend Tara was a HUGE help with the skirt as I had no access to a working sewing machine and a lack of sewing skillz at the time. She taught me how to cut out the fabric and then basically did all the sewing. In return, I made the brooch and crown for her Rune costume. The shoes were old ones I had, the ribbon bought at the crafts store. Unfortunately, this was my very much an early attempt at cosplay and the con was held just over 9 weeks before my wedding (and it was a pretty big wedding). So, I ran out of time and money to do a lot of details, like the design on the shirt, the belt, the white edge on the gloves and the purple wig. I actually did all of these details except the wig (which I didn't get to before it fell through) to wear it again for Halloween 2003, but ended up not wearing a costume so no new pictures. Still haven't decided to retire it or not at this point.
