WHY || After thinking about which costume she would prefer wearing, Fro decided upon Wind Prétear. She likes most of the elements of the manga version costume better, so we decided to use that version.

HOW || First of all, I made the shirt out of a junior's top pattern, lengthened to cover the entire belly. Then, I tackled the skirt; this is where many of my hours of work were used. After figuring out a pattern of sorts, heavily modified from a knife-pleated cheerleader skirt, I cut out the fabric into 4 main panels- front, back, and 2 sides. Each panel consisted of the outer layer, and an inner layer with interfacing sandwiched between. Then, the blue trim was sewn around each side and the panels were attached together at the waist. At some points in the waist band, there are over 20 layers of material together. o_0 The leggings were made out of the same stretchy white material as the top by tracing the outline of Fro's leg and sewing up the back seam. The sleeves were made out of sparkle organza. Small casings were put into the seams at the edges of the fabric, and craft wire was run through. The edges were then gathered together to create the poofy look. Fro made all the jewels and the tiara to complete the costume. She used aluminum craft metal and wiggle eyes with transparent paint.
