Halloween 2003
Halloween 2003 was on a Friday, so we decided to have a little party with some friends up for the weekend. However, with nobody arriving until later on Friday evening, we ended up not costuming ourselves at all. But, that certainly didn't stop me from dressing up my pets.
Our fluffy white bunny, named Sesshomaru, was dressed up as his namesake- an antagonist from the series InuYasha. A small "kimono sleeve" made out of muslin was attached to the side of his harness. On top of that, a silver-painted piece of craft foam served as the "armor." We had to snap photos quickly before he attempted to chew the costume off.
The cats, Duncan and Connor, were also dressed up as their namesakes, from the series Highlander. They reluctantly wore their kilts around the house. (Cats in kilts! It's funny, just say it, and you'll know.) Connor refused to walk or stand up with the kilt on his body. Duncan got used to it and we left it on him most of the evening.
Saturday afternoon, we also had a pumpkin painting contest. There were 3 groups. The boys made a geisha pumpkin, some of the girls made a little pumpkin house and yard, and my group won with our Yubaba (Spirited Away) pumpkin that incorporated the pumpkin stem as the nose.
