Site Reviews

At the end of November 2002, this site was reviewed at Delicious Radiance Reviews. You can visit their site to check out my original review, or go there to get a review yourself. I really thought they were helpful and very thorough in their comments. When reading through their review of my site I kept making comments to myself, so I have decided to post their reviews below, along with my comments.

First reviewer: Kakyuu

Likes: I love the image that you used in your layout, it looked rather nice, and gave the site a wedding like atmosphere. [Why thank you! I really loved this image when I first saw it in the manga; I used the one from the Japanese version since the printing of it in the Mixx was... not good.]
Dislikes: The layout took a little bit longer to load than I had hoped for the first time I visited the site, I also dislike the fact that a new layout had to load on each page. [What? There is only 1 image- the oval ones- per section and the side navigation part only has to load once. The headings themselves are tiny, only a couple of k each] I wish you had has a site map somewhere on your site so that it would have been easier to find things on your site. Until I clicked on them, I had no clue what some sections, like vows, scandalous, and recessional, contained, and where to go to find certain things. [I hate site maps, but I will work out better explanations on the links] I also think you should include an explanation of your site on the main page, like is the site a shrine to Bunny, a shrine to her love with Darien, what is it exactly? [I think "A Bunny Shrine" on the top of the page above the links is enough for this. How did you miss that?] It would just be nice to give people an idea of what to expect on your site. At first I really thought that the blue background was too dark, and that it clashed very badly, but as I went through the site, I began to see more and more how it fit in with your site, and I began to like it better as well. Just as a suggestion for the future, I wouldn't use a dark background on such a light theme, like a wedding. [The colors used in the site, cornflower blue and bright pink, were the colors for my wedding. Good enough for my wedding, good enough for Bunny's.]

Likes: I liked how you didn't base your profile and other information around the statistics, but you still had them for anyone who may want them. I also liked the "Magical Girl" page, I thought it was original and insightful.
Dislikes: In your navigation, you have Bunny&39;s information page called, "Profile," but on the actual page it is called Statistics, you should make them both say the same thing. [What? The information page is called Profile. Period. Once you are at the profile page, there is a link at the top to the pop-up for the statistics.] On your "A Soldier's Policy" page, you are missing several things. [In my defense, my site is not yet complete. Sure, all the Sailor Moon manga is finally out, unlike when I first started the site. But, I have yet to own all the graphic novels and do not want to base my information off the Japanese tonkoubon I own, Mixx changes to many of the names, etc.] First off, you are missing her transformation phrase into Eternal Sailor Moon, which is Silver Moon Crystal Power. She first says that to transform in Sailor Moon Stars Act 1; however she first becomes Eternal Sailor Moon at the very end of SuperS Act 8. You are also missing her transformation in SuperS to Super Sailor Moon. The saying is Moon Crisis Mack-up, first used in SuperS Act 1. Now on to her attacks. First, you are missing Moon Gorgeous Meditation, used by Super Sailor Moon, first used in SuperS Act 1 to attack the Amazoness Quartet. Secondly, there is Starlight Honeymoon Therapy used first by Eternal Sailor Moon in Stars Act 2. Third, you are missing Eternal Sailor Moon's other attack, Silver Crystal Power Therapy Kiss, first used in StarsS Act 8. On your comments about Moon Halation/Helation, yes they are the same, Mixx has many typos. The Holy Grail and Holy Cup are essential the same thing though they look different from S to SuperS. The Holy Grail appears in Sailor Moon SuperS in Act 8 when Eternal Sailor Moon first appears. Note, the Holy Grails from the S arc disappear when Bunny and Chibi Usa try to use them in SuperS because all the senshi are no longer together. Eternal Sailor Moon's Tier is attained when she becomes Eternal Sailor Moon at the end of Act 8, her staff appears in Act 9. [I don't think I can thank you enough for all that information! Now I don't even have to wait to buy the novels to get it on my site!!!!] I think you should also add some information about the other men in Bunny's life, like Haruka and Seiya. [Suggestion taken into consideration. I suppose I should even though I am an ultra Bunny-and-Darien purist!]

Likes: I really like the "Prelude" section. It is rare to find someone who accurately captures what happened in the Silver Millennium, and you did a really good job of it.
Dislikes: In the "Prelude" section, the way you have it written, it sounds like Luna and Artemis died in the Silver Millennium, which they did not. [Thank you, I did not realize that!] Luna and Artemis were actually frozen in a cryogenic sleep by Queen Serenity and awaken by her spirit after the others were reborn. In the "Processional" section, you say, "...Bunny takes the Moon Sword and in desperation kisses Darien before stabbing herself." You might want to include the fact that she actually stabbed herself first. [Yes, excellent point.]

Bridal Party 8.5 out of 10
Likes: I liked how you had information on Bunny's family and friends.
Dislikes: You need to get picture of Haruka, Michiru, and Bunny's father to add to your information. You should also add more information on Darien, and get information on Luna, Artemis, Diana, Chibi Chibi, Princess Kakyuu, and the Starlights. [Yes, I really should do that, it is pretty incomplete now.]

Reception 9 out of 10
Likes: I liked how you related the information on your "Meanings" page to your feature character, Bunny, few sites actually do that [Yes, I have noticed that too], and it is nice to see one that does. I also liked the amount and quality of information you had on those pages. The "Scandalous" section was just wonderful! I found it to be very original and hilarious, and I really do not think I have ever seen something quite like that before. Wonderful job!
Dislikes: On your "Favors" page, take the border off of the table, make the background white, and make the link text the normal blue color rather than that pinkish color. The blue background behind the wallpapers really is not necessary, and the page would look better without it. [Good ideas, this is something I will change soon.] I wish you had credited your sources for the gemstone and wedding item information. [Ooops! Forgot to do this since I just lifted the info off of another one of my own sites. But how is anybody else to know this? *blushes*]

Likes: I liked the Fan Art in the Fan Art section, it was very pretty and interesting.
Dislikes: Your thumbnails do not show as much of the image as they should, and sometimes it is really had to tell what the actual image is. Make your thumbnails show more of the image so that it is easier for visitors to tell what the image is without viewing the full image. [I blame a phase I went through where I was obsessed with abstract thumbnails. Not a good idea afterall.] You should also get more color images of Bunny and company, as well as some black and white images. There are many more images out there, and you should add some more of the to your site. [I am in progress with doing so now.]

Dislikes: I really think you should add links to other sites besides just Bunny/Usagi shrines on your links page. I know that on your links page you say to go to Bunny's Ambition for more links, but it really would be nicer and more convenient for the visitor if you listed some of those links on "A Soldier's Policy" too. [OK, point taken.] Your "Awards Won" page really should have it's own link on the navigation bar at the right, maybe you should add that whenever you make a new layout. [Yes, good point.]

Comment: I really enjoyed reviewing your site. Overall, the site is very nicely done and I really enjoyed it. I think there are some things you could change or add that would make it better, but it is pretty good as it stands. Well, best of luck with this site and others!

Likes: The layout is beautiful, and the picture you chosen really looks good with the theme. The main page looked really organized too.
Dislikes: The navigation was confusing at first. I didn't know where I was going. A site map here would go good and it would help the visitors with any questions about the sections before entering a certain part. [Yes, I see now something has to be done. I just didn't realize it was so confusing! Probably because I came up with it all!]

Likes: The profile here was good because it didn't go by just stats, but you also had them which was good to see. You had interesting pictures here of each disguise and item Bunny used and had the act number as well. The magical girl information was interesting and good to have.
Dislikes: In the make-up part you had the items that Bunny used and at the end you had a "?" next to the last two. You should find out when she got the items so the "?" can be taken off and the act number can be displayed instead. I noticed that you missed some of the attacks she had, such as the therapy kiss attack used in the stars. Another attack you missed of hers' is the rainbow moon heartache. [All of this is because the site is not finished yet; it will be soon.]

Likes: I liked the information you gave about the other characters such as the family and friends. I also liked that you had an image for almost every character to show what each looked like.
Dislikes: The sentence: "But, as the story goes on, we see less and less of her home life, and more of her life as a soldier- Sailor Moon." would look better without the "Sailor Moon" at the end or you could replace "soldier" with "sailor moon." [Yes, it is a bit awkward.] In the Friends part you should try to find a picture of Haruka and Michiru. [It is now on my agenda.]

Likes: The images were high quality for the most part. All the images were fast loading and there were thumbnails.
Dislikes: The thumbnails for most of the images were too small and you couldn't make out what the full image was until it was clicked on. The thumbnails should show more visually what the image will look like. [I will redo these soon.] One of the thumbnails in the Newlyweds part had the face of Raye, which was out of place since the page seems to be a shrine to Bunny and Darien. The thumbnail of that image should be changed to Bunny's face instead of Raye. [Yes, good point.]

Likes: You had the information laid out very well. I liked that you had the information accompanied with images that gave a visual.
Dislikes: In the Processional section there was not a lot told about Tuxedo Mask helping Sailor Moon. I also noticed some minor spelling mistakes. [It is hard to catch them all; I wrote this site up in SimpleText- no spellchecker!]

Reception 8 out of 10
Likes: You had a lot of information about the meanings of the wedding symbols. The "Favors" were very nice and fast loading. There was a lot of information that I didn't know about. The "Scandalous" page was original. [Thank you, I did have alot of fun creating Scandalous, and it has gotten a very good response!]
Dislikes: In the Meanings part you had the translations bunny in several languages, however they did not seem to fit into the page with all the different languages. I also noticed that you had a lot of information about the wedding items but no credit. You should provide some information to where you got the information of the items. [Yes, I should, shame on me!]

Site Notes 7 out of 10
Likes: The links were good and they all opened in a new window. You had your credits to where you got things from and it was written in an interesting way. The site history was nice, and it had your previous layouts, which was nice to look at. I liked the buttons provided to link back to your site.
Dislikes: In the links section you have a lot of buttons with alt tags however I didn't know what was really in the site until I click on it. For the links you could separate them and put a description of the link next to it, this would help your visitors get a feel what they should expect from the site are going to. [Yes, I will work on this.] In the site history part you had the link to your first site, however when clicked it opened in the same window. For the link you should have it open in a new window like you did in the links section. Also in the credits section you had another link to your first site and it opened in the same window as well, you should have this link open in a new window as well. [Thank you! I had missed those when making this version- previously all links opened in the same window during versions 1 and 2.]

Comment: The content was amazing and I really enjoyed reviewing this site.
